Tractors top $83600 at Karlgarin sale

TRACTORS stole the spotlight at Robert and Peta Want's clearing sale at Karlgarin recently.
With enthusiastic FarmWorks auctioneers taking spirited bids from more than 200 registered buyers, the top price of $83,600 was paid for a John Deere 8300 FWA, bought by DA & SM Meade, Gairdner.
A John Deere 8560 tractor sold for $49,500 to MJ & LM Schorer, Pingelly while a John Deere 6400, FWA tractor topped out at $35,750, to Jonathon Goyder, Dowerin.
Bidding remained energetic throughout the hot day reflected by competitive bidding for a Bourgault 8800 10.9m bar which finally was knocked down to AC and DA Hathaway and sons, Brookton for $62,700.
An Acco tandem axle with bin proved its worth as a shelter from the heat before it became the subject of animated bidding to $29,700.
Among myriad sundries, machinery and furniture a selection of fittings, pumps, feeders and bins were sold.
A self-pinning TWA wool press sold for $7000 while a manual model sold for $425.
Several lines of points were offered selling from $20-$240.
Karlgarin property owner Robert Want, said the support at the clearing sale was fantastic, both from the local community and from FarmWorks staff.
Among the few items that were passed in was a John Deere CTS header with 9.1m tine reel front.
