MOST of the large broad acre machinery offered south of Kulin by FarmWorks account John Bell and family last week brought good values, with a Flexi coil seeding rig topping the sale at $82,000.
This comprised an 820 bar press wheels, dual shoot. Agmaster points a Haukaas sidearm marker complete with a dual fan 2320 air seeder. It was sold to Mark Graham, LG Graham and Co, Narrogin.

The previous lot, a Ford Versatile 9680 4WD on duals with 3700 hours was eventually negotiated at $80,000 to Sean Scadding of NM and MA Scadding, East Kulin while a John Deere 9600 combine harvest with 3000 rotor hours complete with a 936 Draper front was bought after the sale for $62,500 by Peter Brown, Cuballing.
Two other older headers, a Fiatagri Laverda and a much older International both failed to attract a bid.

Of the other tractors offered, a Same Rubin 180 with 2350 hours on the clock sold for $50,000 to Scott Bayley, Tincurrin while a Chamberlain 4480 went a $7200to DJ Wilkinson, Brookton.
A Belarus 7000 4WD (1700 hours) was knocked down to Murray Williams, Quairading for $6000.
The overall offering of 400 lots took auctioneers FarmWorks WA manager Harold Sealy and invited auctioneer Andrew Kitto five hours under very warm conditions to clear all but a few items to the large crowd.

Local FarmWorks Kulin agent Barry Gangell was busy throughout the sale negotiating bids via mobile phone to clients who could not attend the sale. Most larger items went locally or to other broad acre producers in the Upper Great Southern and there had been good eastern states interest on some items. Proving the continuing demand and popularity of the old Massey Ferguson 65, a well looked after and well presented unit sold for $7500. But an old Massey Harris and Fordson Major in working condition failed to sell.

Another higher priced item was a Hardi 2428 24.4m broom sprayer on 23.1 x 30 tyres bought by Alan Anderson, Kojonup for $18,000. And an Allbulk five-in-one 20/14 bin went for $5500 to Nigel Naughton, Lake King.
There was good competition on the tri-axle 32,500L water tanker, before it was finally knocked down for $27,000 to T and E Nicholson, Moorine Rock but an Isuzu truck with a 6.7m tipper was passed in at $7000. Another Isuzu farm licensed fuel truck made $1800.
Of other tillage machines, a set of 12.2m Phoenix finger harrows made $3000 while four old ploughs ranged in values from $100 through to $1050.
Other items offered which might have been of interest to those not present included a Toyota forklift which sold for $3750 while a $130 Bobcat with GP bucket and pallet forks was passed in at $20,000 and a Boxer mini skid steer loader failed to attract a bid.

Also failing to attract any bids was the Beechcraft Musketeer A23 aircraft but the last item offered, a fully furnished 200 Coromal park caravan sold for $16,000 on a phone bid by Kogardy Farming Co, Gibson.

Among the sundry lots there were numerous items of railway iron, big lengths of various diameter piping including old natural gas pipeline, tubing, plate steel mesh and other steel items all of which sold to numerous buyers, much at good market value.
