Equirama wave to hit Margaret River

Margaret River is the venue for WA's richest Campdraft, Cutting, and Polocrosse event,Equirama, to be held on Saturday 24 th and Sunday 25 th November2007. The fusion of three of the fastest growing horse equine sports inAustralia and a premium horse sale in the pristine Margaret River region is abig draw card for WA horse enthusiasts.

Highlightingthis event are big name horse professionals such as Todd Graham in the sport ofCutting, Peter Comiskey, Campdrafting, Paul Brennan, Polocrosse, and celebrityhorseman Dan James. Todd Graham has won numerous national titles and overone million dollars in prize money. Peter Comiskey has just won his 13 thAustralian Open Rider title and events like the Warwick Gold Cup. Paul Brennanhas represented Australia and coached international Polocrosse teams and DanJames who has just featured in "Spirit of the Horse".

"Tohave these professional horsemen running clinics and demonstrations at the sameevent will be a first for WA. All this combined with high class Campdrafting, Cuttingand Polocrosse events in the heart of the pristine Margaret River tourist meccacombined with great wine and food, it doesn't get any better", said Equiramacoordinator Kent Osmotherly.

Totop things there will be a Premium Horse Sale conducted by FarmWorks Livestockwith Campdrafting, Cutting and Polocrosse horses with top shelf genetics.

"Giventhe strength of the economy in WA it seems as if horse people are going east tosecure performance horses as the demand is high and I believe the market overhere is becoming more sophisticated as people look towards securing well bredand well performed horses. Why go east when you can secure your requirementslocally and avoid the tyranny of the Nullarbor and the cost of buying andtransporting your horses," said Mr Osmotherly.

Thesale will only have ridden horses from 2 years old through to campaigned olderhorses and numbers have been limited to 20 horses to ensure absolute premiumquality.

Equiramahas been modelled around three of the most successful horse events in thecountry being, Paradise Lagoons Campdraft in Rockhampton, National CuttingHorse Associations (NCHA) Futurity in Tamworth and the World Cup Polocrosseheld at Warwick. These events are now attracting record numbers. ParadiseLagoons is Australia's Richest Campdraft paying over $175,000 in 3 days, theNCHA futurity is the richest equine event outside of thoroughbred racing withover $400,000 in prize money and trophies and the Polocrosse World Cupattracting 4000 players and over 40,000 horse enthusiasts.

"Ihave just taken a bit out of every event and rolled them into the one weekend.Whether you are competing, partaking in a clinic, or just admiring some ofAustralia's greatest horsemen, it will be a lot of fun" said Mr Osmotherly.

Entranceto Equirama will be by gold coin donations with proceeds going to the RoyalFlying Doctors Service. Not only is Equirama for the horse enthusiast but willbe attractive to those who want to enjoy what the Margaret River Region has tooffer or simply to experience something different.
